Hydrogen detonations

Biography

Karl obtained his Ph.D. from the Université Paris-Saclay in 2016. Prior coming to KAUST, his research background was focused on the experimental and modeling kinetic studies directly or indirectly applied to combustion or industrial safety, during different visiting researcher periods (Caltech/MIT) or postdoc (ENSTA Paristech).

In 2017, Karl joined KAUST in the group of Pr. Deanna Lacoste (Plasma and Flames group) as a postdoctoral researcher and is now a research scientist since 2021. His current research interests are related to the experimental characterization of detonations by laser diagnostics (mainly OH- and NO-LIF), spectroscopic modeling (KAT-LIF code), and detonation modeling.
