Biography

Dr. Carvalho holds a degree in Aeronautical Infrastructure Engineering from the Technological Institute of Aeronautics, Brazil (1976) and Master and PhD degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology (1980 and 1983, respectively). Since 1999, he has been a full professor in the Department of Energy at the Faculty of Engineering of Guaratinguetá of the São Paulo State University. From 1983 to 1998, he was a researcher at the Associated Combustion and Propulsion Laboratory of the National Institute for Space Research in Brazil. He has experience in the field of transport phenomena and thermal engineering, especially in the field of Combustion: Energy and Environment. He has been a consultant in Industrial Combustion since 1988. He is included in the 2020 and 2021 lists of the 2% most influential scientists (in career) (World's Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University).
